Companions and Sir Knights,
It is with an exceptionally heavy heart that I report to you that Brother, Companion and Sir Knight Cedric Lane Smith passed away this past Sunday, April 23, 2017.
Brother Cedric served as the Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Ancient and Honorable Society of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Vermont, as the Most Excellent Past Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Vermont in 1980, as the Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Vermont in 1988 and as the Right Eminent Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of the State of Vermont in 1989. He was an Honorary 33° Scottish Rite Mason, as well as an active member and officer in all Appendent Bodies of the York Rite.
Calling hours are Saturday, April 29, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Northern Vermont Funeral Home, 60 Elm St. Hardwick, Vermont 05843. A memorial and Masonic service will be held Sunday, April 30, at 2:00 PM at the Craftsbury Academy Gymnasium, 1422 North Craftsbury Rd., Craftsbury Common, Vermont 05827.
